Egan

1.  Assume an active role in life rather than a passive one.  The student must actively direct himself, rather than merely following directions.

With this statement I do agree with Egan. I agree with him because he is right a student should direct them selves instead of having to follow someone else's directions. They should know what direction we need to take. We do not need someone to tell us how to dress school appropriate you should know.

4. Develop a wider range of interests -- moving from changeable, shallow, and casual interests in mature, strong, and enduring interests.

With this statement I agree with Egan and disagree. I agree that everyone should try something new and have a wide variety of things they like. I just do not agree with actually developing these new things. You should not have to develop new things  if you do not want to. You should try it but make it your choice on how much time you want to spend on your new interest.

In my life I believe me getting ready to live on my own with out my parents is a step of adult hood.

I do believe Sycamore sometimes gives you a chance especially when you are a senior, but for some reason they feel like they have to have authority over every little thing. They do not we know what is right and not if we are doing something that is not like a normal school day but it is not hurting anyone then they need to get over this so called authority they have and move on.

NFL Timeline

For my visual presentation I have chosen a 65 second clip. This clip gives a visual of how football looked from when it first started by showing a bunch of guys wearing ragedy clothes tossing a ball around and basically killing the man with the ball. Then it shows how these players then needed protection so the clip shows the leather era whiched I talked about in my paper. Then the clip all of a sudden changes from black and white to color showing now the present of football. The present part of the clip shows a player that actually plays NFL Football. This is a great commercial for my project because it shows a 65 second clip on what my 10 to 12 page paper is basically about.

Make Up From Me Being Sick

                                                                 My Football Recruiting Experience

I have a personal experience on the way things have changed through football. The football recruiting process is very difficult and complicated. From the recruiting my uncle went through when I interviewed him he says that it is not as hard because when he was being recruited politics where not nearly as bad as they are today. With me I felt like after I had got one step done then all of a sudden there was another step to do. These steps where so stressful that I had got so discouraged to even play the sport that I knew I would miss alot if I did not play. But it is such a stressful time all of your senior year until you know you made the right decision and commit. After all of that long and stressful process I have committed with the Thomas More College Saints which is a top ten school for there divivsion and will be getting a scholarship. So after all the  bad eventually it all turns into happiness.

Honest Self Inventory

What are you doing well, What has been difficult? What still needs to be done? How much time have you put in to your Capstone? Have you used your time well?

What I believe I am doing well on so far is coming up with different kinds of research ideas. The difficult part of my project is making sure that I am going to make my paper long enough that it is still interesting to read as it gets longer. I need to have my interview, finish my book, and finish parts 4+5 drafts. I have put a lot of time on my capstone project 5 days a week 50 minutes each day unless its like an early release or something. I have used my time real well. I am not behind on anything.

Interview

I will be interviewing my uncle June on either March 7th or March 14th at 7 p.m. I will be asking him questions on what position he played? What team did he play for? What year did he start? What equipment did he wear? What were his likes/dislikes? What do you think of the game now? What differences does he notice that players have now from what you had then? My uncle is an expert in the game he is probably going to be my best resource can not wait to interview him.
