Capstone Night
This was a very good experience. This was not as bad as I thought. I thought I was going to be a lot more nervous then what I was that night. I actually had fun talking about t5he topic I love or sport I love which is football. Informing a complete stranger in my eyes to tell them why I love this sport. This was fun like I said and would I do this again if I had a choice? I don't know about all that.

Hazing
If university life is part of your future plans, how do you react to this article? Does it change your previous plans or mindset about the next four, five, six years of your life?
I believe that what I read in this article is very disturbing. I feel bad for all the students that have been harmed or even killed because of hazing. I never knew that this even happened like it does and it is disturbing news. This does not change any of my different plans in the next years of my college career. On the other hand it definitely changes my mind set watching out for my self more then I first expected and watching out for others also that are in need.

What I have Done
This week I have been put on crunch time for my paper. It has been a relaxing time still just editing my paper. Also, reviewing and seeing what I need to add to my paper and what I should take out of my paper. I thought about all the information I have and how much I now know about the sport. From the ouside in.

Transforming the Workplace
Discuss what you think about these matters.
* These key ideas matter most importantly because they are true. Business writer Seth Godin remarks ominously, “If you're the average person out there doing average work, there's going to be someone else out there doing the exact same thing as you, but cheaper.” When he says this it is important because this is so true. For example there are professional guys that cut the grass for like $50. There are also people like me that cut the same yards for $20. When the key points talk about curiosity it is very important. It talks about if you are curious or anxious with the job that you are doing you will work much harder and better. if you have curiosity in your work you will create something and could become an innovator.
* Having technology is the best thing that has happened because it give you continuous information that can teach you. Technology gives us news about what the economy is who is each countries leader, or even just telling us about how to make or create things.
* Being a self-directed learner is good because it shows that you do not need anyone to push you. If someone tells you to do something you do it and learn from doing and then become great at doing it then you become the teacher. These workers become very passionate for there job and become great at doing it. Which then leads to success in life.
* You will become great at life if you get committed to what you want to do to succeed. No one is better than anyone, but that does not mean you can't be better at doing things to get to that higher level.

Egan
1. Assume an active role in life rather than a passive one. The student must actively direct himself, rather than merely following directions.
With this statement I do agree with Egan. I agree with him because he is right a student should direct them selves instead of having to follow someone else's directions. They should know what direction we need to take. We do not need someone to tell us how to dress school appropriate you should know.
4. Develop a wider range of interests -- moving from changeable, shallow, and casual interests in mature, strong, and enduring interests.
With this statement I agree with Egan and disagree. I agree that everyone should try something new and have a wide variety of things they like. I just do not agree with actually developing these new things. You should not have to develop new things if you do not want to. You should try it but make it your choice on how much time you want to spend on your new interest.
In my life I believe me getting ready to live on my own with out my parents is a step of adult hood.
I do believe Sycamore sometimes gives you a chance especially when you are a senior, but for some reason they feel like they have to have authority over every little thing. They do not we know what is right and not if we are doing something that is not like a normal school day but it is not hurting anyone then they need to get over this so called authority they have and move on.

NFL Timeline
For my visual presentation I have chosen a 65 second clip. This clip gives a visual of how football looked from when it first started by showing a bunch of guys wearing ragedy clothes tossing a ball around and basically killing the man with the ball. Then it shows how these players then needed protection so the clip shows the leather era whiched I talked about in my paper. Then the clip all of a sudden changes from black and white to color showing now the present of football. The present part of the clip shows a player that actually plays NFL Football. This is a great commercial for my project because it shows a 65 second clip on what my 10 to 12 page paper is basically about.

My Football Recruiting Experience
I have a personal experience on the way things have changed through football. The football recruiting process is very difficult and complicated. From the recruiting my uncle went through when I interviewed him he says that it is not as hard because when he was being recruited politics where not nearly as bad as they are today. With me I felt like after I had got one step done then all of a sudden there was another step to do. These steps where so stressful that I had got so discouraged to even play the sport that I knew I would miss alot if I did not play. But it is such a stressful time all of your senior year until you know you made the right decision and commit. After all of that long and stressful process I have committed with the Thomas More College Saints which is a top ten school for there divivsion and will be getting a scholarship. So after all the bad eventually it all turns into happiness.

Honest Self Inventory
What are you doing well, What has been difficult? What still needs to be done? How much time have you put in to your Capstone? Have you used your time well?
What I believe I am doing well on so far is coming up with different kinds of research ideas. The difficult part of my project is making sure that I am going to make my paper long enough that it is still interesting to read as it gets longer. I need to have my interview, finish my book, and finish parts 4+5 drafts. I have put a lot of time on my capstone project 5 days a week 50 minutes each day unless its like an early release or something. I have used my time real well. I am not behind on anything.

Interview
I will be interviewing my uncle June on either March 7th or March 14th at 7 p.m. I will be asking him questions on what position he played? What team did he play for? What year did he start? What equipment did he wear? What were his likes/dislikes? What do you think of the game now? What differences does he notice that players have now from what you had then? My uncle is an expert in the game he is probably going to be my best resource can not wait to interview him.

Article
Tight Ends Have Changed the Way NFL Offenses Play
This article talks about how tight ends have changed the way football is played. In this article it tells how back when football first started tight ends were used as just an extra blocker to block for running back and QB. Occasionally they would go out for 4 yard passes. Now tightens are the keys to most offenses. They are not only tall strong guys but the tight ends are now fast and athletic which makes it harder for the corner back to guard because of their height. It is also, hard for Linebackers to guard because of their speed. As each season passes each team will have a key tight end for their offense.

What are you passionate about? How do your passions defy expectations? What steps have you taken to feed your passion? What (or who) gets in the way of you embracing your passions?
I am passionate about not only playing but teaching and watching the sport of football. My passion defies my expectation by if I want to play football in the future I work hard in the weight room to stay in shape. If I want to coach I will study techniques. The steps I have taken is ignore all the negative and do me. Nothing gets in the way of me embracing my passions people might try but I can not see the negative bumps in my life. I might here people say you can not do it but all I say is "okay" and keep on keeping on.

Successful Capstone Students
Describe the attributes of a successful capstone student. What should be expected of you in this class? How will you hold yourself accountable? What do you expect from your fellow classmates and learning community? What do you expect from your teacher in this class? The capstone process allows for a great deal of freedom and responsibility – how do you feel about this opportunity?
What is expected of me in this class is for me to have an enjoyable time and find a topic that I am interested in and find out more about then share what I learned. I expect my fellow classmates to do well so they can graduate with me. I expect everyone to be informed on what I learned from my topic. I expect my teacher to be their to help me when ever I need it. I feel that this is a great opportunity and I am ready to get it over with.
